Anne Shelley’s debut novel is a thought-provoking page turner. She takes an original angle, in that one of the main characters, Lucien is a depressive entity on the prowl for his next host. Shelley sets the stage well, showing us disparaging events that rattle the protagonist, Wilona Christiansen's young life. Though we know Lucien is ready to stake his claim, we don't know which tactics he'll use or how successful these efforts will prove. Shelley’s story will resonate with her young adult/adult/paranormal audience because she writes with a lot of heart, eloquence, and grit. Her range as a writer draw readers right into her story, having them contemplate important topics such as struggling through depression, enduring sorrows, and growing in resilience.

The Think of An Un-learned One~

The ex-husband in me, the father in me, the man in me, the child in me and the reader I am all found a connection in that short write. And, after all, connecting with the reader is much of what writing is about, eh? If not all of it...Then too, a sinister cloud was beginning to form in the story, and that suspense fueled a want to read more. Very nice, Ms Shelley! Very nice!

You started your story very well. I loved the way you write and your creativity in telling the facts. The characters are quite creative.
